DAY 6 & 7!

We have had a busy last 2 days, with the completion of regular merit badge classes and one called Honorary Warrior we have been busy.  Our friends from Michigan had one called Brave who is now a new Warrior!  Our boys watched with anticipation and excitement for Jacob.  It has been a pleasure to help Mrs. Larson, Aidan's mother, become another Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

As of tonight, officially we have earned a combined 49 merit badges and the records are still updating.  We should be close to 60 by the time we head back North on Tuesday.  The boys are excited to see their families and we know you will enjoy seeing them too.

It will be hot so dress appropriately and wear good walking shoes as you will be drug all over the reservation.  Thank you all for sending your boys down here and making this such a successful session once again.  Everyone is keeping fit and hydrated as we come down the home stretch.

See you all soon.

End of Day 5

Well here we are, the end of another day at Bartle.  The end of day 5 brings to a close a day of new merit badges for some and the leader belly flop competion.  Our good friend Ted Theisen too one for the team.  You can see his blog here...  http://ttheisen-bartle@blogspot.com

Day 5...The Fifth Day!!!`

Good morning Purple chicken families..  Last night, Night 4, we had Call Night!!!  The night was filled with excitement and wonder.  As the Tribesmen of the Great Tribe of Mic-O-Say circled into the council ring the tension built..  The Circle Will never be Broken....  Our boys sat in excited anticipation.  When the Medicine man finally spoke and the call was heard... 8 Purple Chickens were called into the ring to begin their trials to become full members of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.  This morning we woke with 8 new Foxmen!!!  Congratulations to John S, Jared A, Aidan Q, Logan S, James F, Alex A, Justin C, & Brendan T!  Over the next year they will be watched to see if they are meeting the requirements given them.

In other news the other 6 scouts are still having a great time. There is fun, excitement, and a game of kick the bottle.. The dust is flying and everyone is having a great time! We are currently under a county wide burn ban so there was not even a fire in the council ring last night. We are hoping for rain!!!  Keep reading and your leaders will be attempting to keep you informed of the highlights.  Remember to come to Family Day ready to listen to the excited chatter of your scout, or scouter!!!

DAY 3..... The Third Day!!!

Wow!!  What a great couple of days.  With the temperatures in the low 80's it has been grand!!
Seriously though, everyone is in great spirits despite the heat and humidity.  Today at 9:58 we entered heat alert 2 and the scouts, and leaders, have been pumping the fluids.  Merit badges are going well. And everyone is getting excited for call night tomorrow night.  The food is fine the fun is funner at H. Roe Bartle scout reservation.  All 14 of your Purple Chickens and the 9 friends from Michigan and one from Lee's Summit are having a blast making lifetime memories and learning at the same time.
The merit badges are underway, and will be half over tomorrow night... already!!!  Many are well on their way and we even have 1 scout who has completed his badge!!! Enjoy these pictures and I will keep trying to get you all updates as the days roll on.  Love, Hugs, and Kisses for from your scouts!
